The friendship between England and France is shaken at the ‘Field of Cloth of Gold’ ceremonies when Henry challenges the French King to a wrestling match and looses, however Moore is on hand to persuade the king to go ahead and sign the treaty. Once back in England Henry emplores Wolsey to seek an alliance with Charles V, King of Spain who is now the Holy Roman Emperor. Henry hopes with his help, he can defeat France. The Duke of Buckingham’s plans to assassinate the King are revealed and he is executed for Treason. Henry celebrates the birth of his bastard son by Elizabeth Blount and takes Mary Boleyn for his next mistress.
