Episode 1

King Henry continues his battle for supreme control over the Church, forcing the Bishops of England to choose to submit to either the authority of the Pope in Rome or The King. Bishop Fishers opposition to The King and his divorce angers The Boleyn's and Sir Thomas Boleyn pays Fishers cook to poison him. Meanwhile Anne Boleyn is angered when she finds out that The Queen, Catherine of Aragon still makes the Kings shirts, so Henry has Catherine sent away from Court and makes Anne queen in all but name. |

Whilst the King and Anne exchange Christmas gifts, the Queen is banished from Court and forbidden to contact his majesty. Henry gifts the title of Marquess of Pembroke to Anne and awards her 10,000 crowns for the 'maintaining of her dignity', meanwhile Brandon is brought back to court after being sent away by the king for suggesting that Anne had an affair with Thomas Wyatt. The royal couple also take a visit to France where Henry presents Anne to the King of France. |

When Anne finds out she is pregnant she and the King are secretly married after Thomas Cranmer is appointed Archbishop of Canterbury, giving him the legal rights to annul the Kings first marriage to Catherine. Grand preparations are made for Anne's coronation and she is finally anointed Queen of England. Henry's eye begins to wander as he becomes frustrated with waiting for Anne to give birth. Which she eventually does, to a baby girl, Elizabeth. |
Episode 4

The Princess Elizabeth is baptised and Henry fights to get The Act of Succession passed, which declares that only children of Anne and Henry's are legitimate heirs to the throne of England. The King continues his affair with Lady Eleanor, until the Queen has her sent from court. Queen Anne discovers that she is once again with child but has to painstakingly choose a new mistress for her husband, the king. Thomas Moore is invited to sign the Act of Succession and swear allegiance to the King. |
Episode 5

Bishop Fisher and Thomas Moore are sentenced to death when they refuse to accept the Act of Succession. Meanwhile Queen Anne looses her baby and the King is disappointed yet again. Anne fears that Mary and Catherine will plot against her and her infant daughter Elizabeth, and her insecurities start to get the better of her as the King continues his string of Mistresses. Mary Boleyn is banished from court after she announces to the Queen and her father that she has secretly married William Stafford and is now with child. |

Henry invites the French Ambassador to England to arrange the marriage of Elizabeth to the French Kings son, but once in England the Ambassador chooses to ignore the Queen and refuses the offer of marriage, claiming that Elizabeth is illegitimate. George Boleyn is married to Jane Parker and Cromwell produces some plays that will help England understand the reformation. Anne and the King argue after she questions him about his mistresses. |
Episode 7

Anne's status as Queen of England is finally unquestioned when Catherine of Aragon dies. After advice from her brother George the Queen makes more of an effort and is rewarded with some last affection from the King. Later, at the May-Day festivals the Queen reveals to her father that she is once again pregnant. Meanwhile the King's attentions moved to the Lady Jane Seymour, who offers to bring to court. |
Episode 8

Jane Seymour arrives at court as a Lady in waiting to her Majesty, much to the distress of Anne who now suspects that Henry is in love with Jane. When Henry falls from his horse and is seriously injured, all thoughts turn to who would succeed him. Anne is distressed when she hears the news and fears for her unborn child. Henry soon recovers but his first thoughts are for Jane and Anne is distressed to find the pair together and soon suffers a miscarriage. |

Strange things are happening at court as The Seymours start to replace the Boleyn's in all matters. Brandon informs the King that the Queen has been entertaining men in her chambers which sparks a full investigation into all matters of the Queens life. Mark Smeaton is tortured for information and George Boleyn, Thomas Boleyn, Norris and Brereton are all arrested on charges of adultery with the Queen. Soon Anne herself is arrested and imprisoned in the Tower, awaiting her own execution. |
Episode 10

In the solitude of The Tower of London Queen Anne awaits the arrival of the French Swordsman who is soon to put her too death. Archbishop Cranmer visits the Queen and hears her last confession, during which Anne vows that she was always faithful to the King. Meanwhile Henry continues wooing Jane Seymour and makes plans to marry her the day after Anne's execution is scheduled to take place. When the time comes, Anne takes to the scaffold with dignity and grace and dies Queen of England. |
