Unfortunately Natalie did not make the shortlist for Best Supporting Actress in the Emmy’s. I am beyond annoyed at this, as I guess most of you will be. Natalie was outstanding in this season and definitely deserved at the very least a nomination. JRM, James Frain and Henry Cavil also missed out on being nominated.

In total The Tudors received just one nomination for Best Drama Series. It seems the Emmy’s have chosen to go for popularity over talent once again.

It’s such a shame that Natalie’s talent won’t even will be shown at the emmys!

Well, that sucks. I mean, Henry Cavill hardly got enough screentime to warrant a nomination. JRM was so-so. But Natalie was doing REALLY well. They’re likely to choose a Desperate Housewife over her. Maybe they think Anne Boleyn has been over-portrayed these days… but Natalie had a whole two seasons to make Anne her own when actresses typically get one film to do it (Natalie Portman). It’s like Natalie Portman being missed out when Scarlett got nominated at the Teen Choice Awards (??) for The Other Boleyn Girl. Scarlett may be a decent actress, but her character was really wooden. Anyways, rant over. Let’s hope the Golden Globes recognize talent.

Man, I’m so bummed to hear this. I cannot believe they didn’t nominate her, and she so clearly deserved it. Natalie, we still know you’re number one! lol. Who needs any Emmy anyway? lol

Lord High Executioner

I have long ceased to be surprised at the pedestrian tastes of the people who nominate these “awards,” such as the Oscars or the Emmys. They now are (if they ever were anything else) simply extensions of the marketing departments of the major networks and studios. For these Hollywood glam-fests, if it ain’t SoCal, it ain’t gonna win. Hopefully Natalie (as well as some of the other members of the Tudors cast) will be nominated for a BAFTA.
